31DayReset: Day31

Challenge: WRITE YOUR OWN EULOGY

Its kind of short, but this is what i want it to say,

"A Good wife, Wonderful mother, sister and friend. I was not here to be rememered, i was here to prepare. prepare for eternity. Learned. Lived. Loved"

This is me raising the bar higher and helping myself achieve this, so it can honestly be said about me.

Now i have come to the end of the reset program, and i cannot be more glad that i did this.

Thank you for following my journey and i really really hope some of it inspired you as much as it did me.

Thaankkkkkkkkkk Yoooouu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*Huge Huge*

31DayReset: Day 30

Challenge: Create a vision board.

I have a mental vision board and it almost similar to my life's Map, and frankly I don't know how 'm going to go about this, so I think I would just pass.

I'm glad this "Journey" is over, its just the beginning of a lot more experiences, this is just a platform for me to be more aware of some of these things I had to work on. I'm so sooo glad I did this, I kinda feel liberated in some way, I'm also almost done with my other 40days journey that I am doing on the side, its been an eye opening experience, maybe I would write a post on it later.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love!

31DayReset- Day 28

Today’s Challenge: LET GO OF THE PAST

Frankly i have dealt with alot of things that i was holding on to and i talked about some here and here There is really nothing more to deal with except maybe i don't know about it...

So, in the spirit of letting go,i deleted the 156 opened chats on my bbm and reduced it to 7... i know, i get attached to tiny tiny things like that x_x

All 'm doing now is trying to not get too attached to alot of things, started with twitter and i think i've weaned myself good, as much as i am tempted to go through  my TL, i just reply my dms, when i do get a notification and i get off, would def go back as soon as i feel i can actually do without it.

Day 27

Challenge: Revive your Love life.

This is a sensitive issue for me right now. Why? Errmmmm I don't wanna tell. Anyways there is just so much I can do about the "Love life" as it is right now.

So, about reviving? I would say there is nothing left here to revive, we can only hire a pastor to help conduct the funeral service of this love life because its going 6ft under.

P.S: Goodluck to you that would be trying to dig up the remains. I so don't envy you, at the same time we don't know what God can do.

P.P.S: My phone is faulty right now (I just found out) :( So, I may not get to post regularly except when the network on my modem allows. :(( No more bbm, no more blogging *hot tears* Trying to get someone to look at it for me tho', just might be back before you say Blink :D

Thanks for stopping by,

Love!

31DayReset: Day 25 & 26

Day 25; Challenge: Find a Community to support your goals.
Today's exercise requires you to explore different groups that you could join as part of your personal development journey.

This I would love to do, but my own question is where?? Which community?? I've never seen anything like this (I'm sure they exist sha) but as soon as I see, would definitely not let the opportunity pass me by.

Would Probably do some exploring when I get back to lagos!

Or if you know anyone, can you please help a sister?? Thanks *kisses*

Day 26; Challenge: Make a new Friend
The idea is that through your new support groups, you now have new opportunities. The more like-minded people you align yourself with, the less lonely it will be on the road towards reaching your goals.

New Friend? Have I finished being a good friend to the pack I have already?? Issokai! Ok! Seriously I have A LOT of friends, and over the past 3-4weeks I've met new ones, I can't say I'm tired of meeting new people because some of them just end up being super amazing, although I have friends but I still manage to feel lonely most of the time, where are you people? Don't they check on people in your villages??? *rme*

I don't want to have a new friend, I want to have friends that really really care, abi? Is that too much to ask from y'll?? Because I really don't know how to open up to people again (experience) I don't know if that's a good thing or not but one thing I know is somewhere somewhere down there is a heart that cherishes friendship and would love to share that with people that are worth it anytime of the day, just name the place ;)

P.s: I soo want a female bestie, one that is not far away from me, one that can knock sense into me whenever I'm being me( I do that a lot x_x), one that is super spontaneous and will drag my butt outta the house to have clean, legal fun, the adventurous type, one that would cry with me and laugh with me and I promise to always be there for you too :) If this is you and you wanna be my friend plss do get at me *puppy eyes*

...................................................................................................................

Ever been in a position where all hope seems lost, but, you know its not lost and you don't know how you know? You just know! Anyone? *sigh*

Have a lovely Sunday and thanks for stopping by.

Love :* :* :*

31DayReset: Day 23&24

Day 23 – PLAN YOUR RESET PROJECT

The exercise is to choose one specific area from your life map to make progress on within the next month. This should be from one of the several major areas of your life.

I've decided to focus on my health for the next month. Health is wealth right? The aspects of my health would be

     * Physical
     * Spiritual
     * Emotional

Physical Health: This would involve the food i eat, the exercises and generally what i do with my body.
I am gradually cutting red meat out of my daily meals (not like a eat 3 square meals x_x) and trying to replace with goat meat, I hear its d healthiest form of meat *shrugs* plus its sweeter but I don't know where to get it here :( still asking around tho'. I'm also cutting out a lot of carbohydrate, ate rice just once in 3weeks, its a miracle! Its only the garri that doesn't go :/

So, all I plan to eat is, aloooot of fruits and vegetables (bought some today) Oats, Yam, Spaghetti........ Seee? Not a lot of options *sigh* I would make do with this :D mean while I would be on 9jaFoodie's website.

Spiritual: I plan to keep reading my bible and communicating with God, keep reminding my self that knowing him is all a process and it takes time.

Emotional: I'm emotionally stable now tho', my head is clear, so is my heart so, I would fight to keep it that way. I have so much love to give right now, 'm channeling it all to my close friends and family, and the people that need it I guess.

Day 24: Rest, Reflect and comment!

Glad this is almost over, so glad that I'm growing and God is giving me strength to get through the week.

I loved the "Stop Complaining" Challenge, its just reminded me that there is always something to be thankful for, and even when your day is not going so well you can sit back and think of the silver lining in every circumstance.

Starting a side hustle is kinda difficult at this stage, because a lot of things are not in order right now, but hopefully before the end of the year, I would have something concrete! Excited!

Looking forward to a lovely weekend (Not like anything special is happening tho') I would be having fun hanging out with myself as always :D!

Have a lovely weekend.

Thanks for stopping by - Again!
Love, Always.

31DayReset: Day 22

Challenge: Start a side hustle

I have been thinking about a side hustle for a while now, and I've chosen an aspect of my "interests" but I want to go and learn more about it first, and I'm making plans for that when am done in this my "village", the come up with a business plan of some sort but I have a name already :D that's a start right??? I can't talk about it now, you know? Don't wanna jinx it, soon! Very soon! I'm super excited!!!

...................................................................................................................

When I came here I just seem to notice the moon more, this place has the best moonlight ever (maybe till I see another better) and its like they are blessed with full moons almost everyday. Its amazing!

So used to the moon here that I can tell the time of the night by what position the moon is from my room :) best part? I don't have to sit outside to enjoy the view.. I just look out my window and its staring back at me. Beautiful!!!!!!!!! ^_^

View From my room

31DayReset: Day21

Today’s Challenge: STOP COMPLAINING FOR TWENTY-FOUR HOURS.

Today’s exercise requires you to monitor your own complaints and replace them with something more productive: gratitude.

Step 1:
Take your Reset notebook around with you today and write down every instance where you complain about something no matter how inconsequential it may seem.
 Step 2:
For each instance, write down a statement of gratitude to combat the complaint. Think about the “silver lining” in each of your compliant.

I complain a lot, didn't realise that till today, although I wasn't with my book every step of today but I remember some complaining I did.

- I complained about standing up this morning; I slept at 4am and I was tired.

Silver lining: I woke up today, and am grateful to God

- Complained about my stolen jeans, as I would have worn it today

Silver lining: All my cloths are not stolen

- My new students are so playful, annoying and dull (Pardon me)

Silver lining: *Searching* Ok! I get to impact knowledge :D

- I had this emergency clearance today, so I had to rush back and forth from home to work before I could sign *phew*

Silver lining: A lot of other corpers were not around for the head count. So, :D

- It rained, and I had to go back to work, didn't get a bike early, my hair was wet, I was cold..........

Silver lining: This raining season is waaaaaaaaaay better than the hot weather

- Complained about not having what to eat, not having the time to go to d market, not having more options of food to eat *sigh*

Silver lining: I still have food and I'm not starving

- Complained about the light when I got home

Sliver lining: **Still Searching** I mean its NEPA, can there be a lining??? :/

- Complained about the snoring coming from the next room, since my neighbour had this visitor, there has been snoring coming from the room at night

Silver Lining: I have loud music. I sooooo don't envy that guy that has to sleep in the same room with the snorer!!

I know something I didn't complain about. How sweet my food was :D I tried sisi yemi's party jollof rice and I let it buuurrrrrnnnnn and my pot is still soaking, it was gooood, I was so proud of myself!

Although I complained a lot today (Some I can't remember) but am reminded that there can be a silver lining for every complain and we just have to pay attention and be thankful.

who goes back to say "Thanks"?

...................................................................................................................

I had tears in my eyes, I didn't realise till it fell out, its so hard watching a very very close friend go through stuff and you can't do anything about it, especially when its changing the person and everything they used to believe in. Sometimes I wish I could do more. I really was sad and I said a prayer for him and hopefully he won't slip away. If you find yourself reading this, please don't slip away. I do care!!!

P:s: What do you do when your visitor can't stop snoring???????

31DayReset: Day 20

Challenge: Remove negative People from your life.

The kind of person I am, I have a default distant-from-negative-people thing going on, most times I would have gone far from the person before I realise sef, which is a good thing I think. All of a sudden it occurred to me that if I keep distancing myself how would I have the opportunity to influence the person positively?
Hmmmmm...... Huge right?
Looking at it from that angle, no one is perfect right? And most times we have alot of negative thoughts ourselves, so instead of just "distancing" myself I would rather filter their energy, try not to get influenced by the negative energy some people expel.
Yeah, too much of everything is not good, and there are some people that are just ALWAYS negative (I know some), those kind of people, instead of totally writing them off, I would pick my conversations with them, definitely nothing personal and once I get the negative vibe from a general conversation, I switch off ( Ask my former boss :x).
Right now, I don't have A LOT of people in my close inner circle life and the ones I have there are hand picked and definitely NOT negative people, I can condone a lil bit of negativity because we gotta be honest we all have some bad energy lurking around somewhere and we need to let it out sometimes however what I can't and would NOT condone is constant, I mean CONSTANT negativity.... If you've not met people like that, I have and they exist and I moved faaaaaaaarr with no regret!!
While I'm moving far from negative people, I would also be working on getting rid of negative thoughts.

P.s: Try and surround yourself with laughter, music and love because what goes in is what comes out.
........................................................................................................................

This I was meditating upon today:

I know the source. The source is right.
I drank. Still not filled.
I reached out. Thin air.
This is the source. Never been more sure.
What am I missing?
Point to the source of the source? Would you? Let me double check.
I drink. Still empty.
I reach out. Can't grasp.
I won't stop. I will get there.
Even if it takes everything.
I will get there.
To the source of the source.
Then I asked myself, do I really feel empty? Or its just one of those times God feels distant?
Something is missing and I can feel it.
Dear God, Fill me. Show me. Make me understand. Help me. Speak to me!

Thanks for stopping by,
Love!!

31DayReset: Day 18&19

Challenge: Rest Reflect and Comment

1. What was the most important thing you learnt about yourself this week?

2. What has been your favourite exercise so far and what did you like about it?

3. Which exercise did you struggle with the most and why?

Ans:

1. I learnt that I don't necessary have to go through this alone (Accountability Partner Challenge) and there are little things that make me happy, I've just not been paying so much attention to it. You would just wonder how much time you have to do other stuff when you just drop your phone or ditch the t.v!

2. Writing out my ideal life. Just picturing it alone made me grin from ear-to-ear, gave me a vision as to what I should be working towards and not wasting time on things that don't matter and it also helps my focus.

3. 100 things that make you happy. The difficult part was thinking about the things, although I know I didn't complete 100 but I'm glad I did that little sef, I realised the little things that made me happy and I didn't realise until I took time to really think about it. :D

Day 19: Challenge; Get Rid of stuffs you don't need.

I keep shouting at home that I don't have cloths EVERYTIME!! When I look into my stuffs I keep wondering where this came from, I'm very attached to MY stuff although when I finished from school, I gave out most of my cloths, I still have more. My plan was when I finish from niger I would take more than half my stuff back home (because I plan to go back to school) then again, in the spirit of decongesting I would give out MOST of my everything that I have here, this gives me 2months to start detaching myself from everything *Hot Tears* This is soooo not easy, but even the bible says "Give it shall be given unto you..." So..... *Insert happy face here*

...................................................................................................................I want to highlight a couple of things I learnt personally this week.

* True strength is from the most high
* Life is meant to be shared, I need others in my life
* Life is all about Love
* Relationships are worth restoring
* Learn to forgive
* Sometimes we need to avoid conflict, sometimes we need to create it, and sometimes we need to resolve it.
* Say "I'm Sorry"
* You are where you are for a purpose, Find it.
* Be aware of God's Presence always, because he never leaves.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love!

31DayReset: Day 14 & 15

Challenge Day 14: Redesign Your day

To redesign my day I've decided to add 30Mins of Exercising early in the morning between 6:30 - 7:00am, and go to bed earlier everyday, so I can wake up early.

Day 15: Ditch TV for 24hours.

Where I am I don't have a Tv and since I've not been on twitter for a while (that's what takes my time) I really don't have anything to ditch.. The point of the ditching was to create time for you to do other things, I spend that time(The one I get from not tweeting) reading and watching movies, so I would just stick to reading today, no series :D

..................................................................................................................

Jeremiah 32:18 says "You show love to thousands but bring the punishment for the fathers sin into the laps of their children after them......"

We shall not be punished for the sins of our fathers in Jesus name.

Aug 19, 2012

31DayReset: Day 12 & 13

Day 12: Craft your ideal life (Narrative)

Hmmmm...... My ideal life, Simple. I wake up 5am everyday, Spend time with God, workout for 30mins or 1hour Max, my Job is not far away from home, so I don't get to "rush" all the time, I work for a big company that pays me well and I can buy myself plenty shoes ;) Every wednesday evening I get to hang out with my girls and just let go of work stress.

Weekends, I pick my camera and walk the streets and take pictures of things that interest me and other saturdays that I'm not working, I'm pampering myself in a spa :D

Occasional visits to different Orphanages. Adopt a kid at some point.

Love and hangout with my family, Love, Read, Have fun, go to church, be a good daughter, friend and sister.

Basically... :D

Day 13: Conduct Your Time Audit
The Assignment is to critically check what you spend your time. 24Hours Time Audit.

7.00 - 7.30am - Devotion
7.30 - 8.00 am - Bath & Breakfast
8.30 - 6.00pm - Work
(Wednesdays) 5- 6pm - Fellowship
6:00 - 6:30pm - Rest & Dinner
6:30 - ..... - Read/ On my laptop/ Movies/ Twitter/ Sleep

This is how I spend my time everyday, I really don't have anything else doing and I'm getting fat X_X

...................................................................................................................

Church today was awesome, you know when you get to church and everything speaks to you? From the bible reading to the choir ministration? That's exactly how I felt. Life has been happening to me, but I can only be thankful to God, because he said he would never put more on me than I can bear. I cried to God on friday/Saturday because it felt like I couldn't go on, I cried to him to give me strength before the end of saturday I did feel it. Although everything isn't "perfect" right now, but I know it would get there and now, more than ever, I trust him and I'm happy about where I am why? Because I know he would make it better.

Romans 8: 35-39

"......... Who shall Separate us from the love of Christ"

".....in all these things we are made more than conqueror through Christ the loved us"

I just hope this would give someone hope as much as it have given me.

In other news, I saw something different in this town today that intrigued me, as we know today is Sallah, on my way to church I saw the muslims in the whole town gather (I didn't get the picture of the crowd) So what intrigued me? The love between them, They don't have denominations or different doctrines, they just gather and pray to their God.

It just got me wondering, is love not all that matters?
I think Christians should emulate this.

Thanks for Stopping by.

Love.

31 Day Reset: Day 11

Today's Challenge: Write a letter to your lizard brain.

What is a lizard brain?
The lizard brain is the epicentre of fear. When you in the clutches of the lizard brain you begin to doubt yourself, you begin to resent the process. You feel yourself wanting to give up and throw in the towel. I've felt this lizard brain a lot of times up until now I really never paid so much attention to the damages it could have caused.

Here is my letter.

Dear Lizard brain,
I've been noticing you popping up at certain points in this challenge and in my life. It seems like everytime I want to do something for my own growth and happiness, you show up and tear me down.
For instance, when I tried to work on the orphanage thing, you showed up in form of procrastination. I wanted to see it through but instead I sabotaged my success by complainung and making excuses.
Another example was when I tried to change my life by eating healthy and exercise, you showed up again. I knew I wanted to change gears, but instead, you told me it was unnecessary.
So I see what you are doing and I don't like it. Yes, I know that you are afraid of change, you're afraid of what will happen if I succeed. But what you have to understand is that whatever happens in my life will work out for my good. I was put here on earth for a purpose and you are keeping me for fulfilling that potential.
Well, until now, you have.
I will no longer allow you to stop my progress in living my ideal life. So the next time I see you, I will simply give you a nod and go about my business.
Its been nice knowing you, but now its time we part ways.
Sincerely,
Morounfoluwa
The Song that comes to mind while typing this is Hello Fear - KirkFranklin

...................................................................................................................

You know when you know you've made progress and all of a sudden you take a step back? I broke down early this morning and I'm at work atm and I just don't feel good, it has nothing to do with this challenge, but when I said to God at that moment "I know I'm supposed to be trusting you and I'm not doing it, I'm sorry" It kept ringing "Its okay to cry, nobody is perfect".
I'm going through a phase, and I'm learning everyday, in ways I couldn't have imagine, although I might cry a lot till I get better, I've realised that its okay. While I still try to make sense of what I'm going through, I stay trusting him.

Thanks for stopping by.

Love.

31 Day Reset: Day 10

Challenge: Today's assignment is to find an accountability partner - someone who can hold you responsible for your own success and progress in pursuing your ideal life.

What is an accountability partner?

  • a friend, family member, co-worker, mentor, coach or someone else you can trust to help you keep a commitment
  • someone on the same path as you or simply willing to help you in your specific journey
  • someone who can help you stay on track toward reaching your goals
  • someone who stands firm and won't let you get away with making excuses or procrastinating
  • someone who will ask you all those difficult questions we tend to avoid
I have 3 Accountability Partners that have been there for me over the years, and i'm sure they wont leave me now. But for this exercise, which is something i feel i need to do on my own with God by my side, i am going to be my own accountability partner. If i don't even learn anything from this challenge, I've learnt to be honest with myself, so God helping me i would be doing the periodic evaluation of my life to measure progress.

Aug 15, 2012

31 Day Reset: Day 9

Challenge: Do one thing

Your "One thing" must/should meet atleast on of the following criteria:

- Something you've been procrastinating on for a long time

- Something that terrifies you

- Something that Inspires you

The action must be tangible and measurable.

So what did I do today?

When I first did the reset, I bought a new bible as a symbol of my re-dedication but that was 2 Months ago, but today I just really wanted to cook. But errrmmmm *Scratchs head* Okay, I just got back and I don't really have anything at home and I can't have time to go to the market till saturday... So I guess I have to postpone - Again! X_X and I think that's the point for today's challenge, but I guess :(

31 Day Reset: Day 8

Challenge: Rest, Reflect and Comment

Q1. What is the most important thing you learnt about yourself this week?

That I have neglected the things that mean a lot to me and I realise I could be happier by just remembering and being thankful for the things that I have going good for me.

Q2. What has been your favourite exercise so far and what did you like about it?

The Love letter to the future me. The fact that I can envision myself not being a quitter (its a form of motivation) knowing you've gifted yourself for the exercise and waiting for the gift.

3. What exercise did you struggle with the most and why?

Day 4: Identifying the values, it was hard to dig out the stuffs that mattered to me because I had lost sight of most of it and narrowing them down to 10? That was hard
