I Lost everything

Really, I just lost everything... I realised that I do not really own anything not even my life. Paul asks "What do you have that you do not receive?" I Cor 4:10
When you think about it critically, logically, physically, spiritually and every -ally you discover the truth in that.

Pause!

Let's think about all you 'have' and count the ones you didn't receive

"...I never esperredit but God gave it to me" -____- Even he realised that it was given...

Seriously, did you find anything?

All I am saying is this, we go on and on about ''My car"... "My Job"... "My Family"... "My...My...My..."

¨Except God watches the house he that builds labours in vain''... Psalm 127:1

Sadly, what the my-syndrome does is that it steals our peace of mind, joy and causes us to live a stressful life, knowingly or unknowingly.

Let me give an example, You have a boss, he sends you to a meeting to represent him with his car. On your way to the meeting the car breaks down what do you do? Depending on your relationship with the said boss you can either give him a call inform him and he handles the rest (call the mechanic etc) or you can take the initiative call the mechanic but keep your boss in the know and he refunds you right? right. OR

You own the car, same thing happens but this time no one is refunding you, you are left with the stress of making sure that the mechanic does the work right and you still have to make it in time for your meeting.

What I am saying is Thinking we are 'owners' instead of seeing yourself as a steward is alot more stressful.

¨The earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof..¨ Psalm 24:1

What do we have that has not been given?

Children?
Wisdom?
Salvation?
cars?
Business?
Ideas?

When we look at it all in the light of being stewards we take the burden of the 'care' that comes with it and place it in God's hands - the real owner - Cast your cares upon him for he cares... His yoke is easy and his burden is light...

He worries about the 'how' all we have to do is acknowledge him in ALL our ways and he will direct us, give us instructions to implement. Isn't that less stressful?

Now, this is not a license to be irresponsible because like every steward we would give account of everything that has been put in our care. It's more of a call to consciously remind ourselves that we are care takers and it will help us to be more appreciative of all that has been put in our care and also be careful with the resources given to us.

Grace and Peace to you!

God is not on the Hill

Hello People,

How are you doing? How is 2015 shaping out? I hope very well?

My head is alil here and there this year but I hope to get a balance and get more connected here by the end of the Month. :)

Psalm 121:1 has been my main 'Theme' for a while right after I changed from ''Rebirth of a Dramaqueen¨ well, only the people that have been here for a long while will know that name... Please, old things have passed away :p

I got the name ''Foot of the Hill¨ from reading the Bible, it appealed to me but I didn't quiet find a Bible verse to anchor it to that made sense to what I was trying to portray, then I found ''I will lift up my eyes to the hill...¨ then I had an 'aha' moment at the time thinking, If David is lifiting up his eyes to the Hill then God is in the hill so guess who is at the foot of the hill? Yep, you got that right!! David then by extension now, me! Abi? Makes sense when you explain it like that, only God is NOT on the Hill atleast not in that way.

A friend of mine said to me yesterday ¨When will you get up to the Hill¨ and my response was ¨Hopefully, Never¨ then I paused and remembered what was impressed on my heart about a month ago to go and revise this my ''Foot of the Hill¨ Thing and yes, I pushed back, I didn't want to admit that I was wrong so I brushed it over and in my mind

¨Let me continue using it like that¨
¨It still makes perfect sense na¨
¨What will people think¨
¨Just change it quietly jor, you don't have to explain¨

These and more passed through my mind. So, yesterday I went back to studying it atleast to once again prove to myself that I wasn't wrong *Yimu* It was clear. Let's look at it together shall we?

I lift up my eyes to the mountains
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth¨ (NIV)

¨I will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]—From whence shall my help come?

My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth¨ (AMP)
¨¨I look up to the hills,
but where will my help really come from?
My help will come from the Lord,
the Creator of heaven and earth¨ (ERV)
 ¨I look up to the mountains;
does my strength come from mountains?

No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains¨. (MSG)
In the AMP version there is a reference to Jer 3:23
¨It was foolish to worship idols on the hills.
All the loud parties on the mountains were wrong.
Surely the salvation of Israel
comes from the Lord our God¨
You now see what I mean? It simply means Shall I depend upon the powers of the earth, upon the strength of the hills, upon princes and great men, who, like hills, fill the earth, and hold up their heads towards heaven? No; in vain is salvation hoped for from hills and mountains. I never expect help to come from them; my confidence is in God only.

But like me, many of us have gotten it right side up. Well, I admit I was wrong and based on this you know I am going to change my blog name bah? Okay! I am very sure now that I will choose something that will be timeless and anchored on God's word!
Have you made any mistake recently that you didn't want to admit? Care to share? Would love to hear from you!
See, you soon.

Will you keep quiet?

Let us pray for the change we need and also be available for service!!!

She said to me ¨Where are you?¨
I simply replied ¨Hiding¨
Hiding in my ignorance.
This selective ignorance the shields me from her pain
Can you see her pain?
Can you feel the blood as they drip.
1 too many to continue to count.
1 by one she drops... pieces of her essence.
But NO MORE...
NO MORE, I scream.
NO MORE, I Scream..
again I Scream.
It's 2015 and its time for positive change.
It's time for me to wipe her tears, Its time for you to stop the pain.
Its time for us to stop the bloodshed.
Change is me.
Change is you.
Change is up.
Let your voice count!

I want to be honest about #DailyExhortations

Hii,

Happy New Year!!

I know this is not exactly the post you would expect on the first day of 2015, but hey! Its critical. I can't exactly remember when I started #DailyExhortations but I am sure that it is over a year ago.

#DailyExhortations is where I send out Bible verse everyday to my contacts (bbm, whatsapp, facebook). Its exciting and I am humbled to do it.

BUT, lately errrmmm... *scratches head* Its been some sort of a chore x_x and I started getting overwhelming and something that used to be born out of a personal time with God and sharing what stood out for me started going out on auto-pilot... hmmm... and it goes back to me and I know that its me that needs working on.

I love love sharing the word and I just didn't like the fact that I was on auto-pilot on most days for the other half of the year and I prayerfully decided to do something about it. Now, this is something I have been wanting to do.

Expanding #DailyExhortations and since I don't like people springing things on me I decided to tell you all that get my messages first.

The idea is to not just send one Bible verse to also send an encouragement, word of prayer, study etc... the verse of the day will allow in addition to the Bible verse of the day. I am doing this by faith because I don't even know if I will be able to keep up but God has promised that he will fill my mouth and take the writing to the next level.

So, who is with me?

I am tempted to quit blogging

A wise man once said to me ¨If you don't know what to write about, then write about the fact that you don't know what to write about¨

I am taking that piece of Advice today.

I am tempted to quit on this blog.
I am tempted to just stop writing.
I am tempted to let go and stop being deliberate.
I am tempted to 'Let life just happen'.
I am tempted to just quit.
I am tempted.

I put it out on all my social media accounts about the thought that has been in my head about this online space and the response was overwhelming. I think that it was selfish of me to just want to quit after meeting and making amazing friends via this platform.

The past few weeks have been different in the sense that I didn't take anything slow at all. Everything was fast paced, time was barely enough, life changing decisions to make or not make. Let's just say alot was happening but My God & I kept this space 'busy' for a while.

Although this is not the first time I have nursed the thought, but this is the first time I voiced it out to the public and I didn't know what to expect but the response was really encouraging...

But then one person said to me

¨If that is what you want then go for it¨

Which brings me to why I wanted to quit;

* I am using present tense because its an on-going process

I am looking at me; I am looking at me. Looking at what I am not doing right, looking at how my life is busy and how I can't keep up, thinking of how I need to make time to write, thinking of what I want to write. Notice the constant thing? ¨I¨

I am looking at you; Asking questions like ''Who even reads this?'' ''Is this adding value to anyone?'' ''Will anyone notice if I don't continue?'' etc

I am looking at others; ¨Oh my! see how pretty her blog is... Jeez my doesn't even cut it'' ''She's got alot to say everyday, you what are you doing?¨ ¨What? > 20 comments and counting on one... ONE post... Chai¨ These are some of the things I have said to myself.

I was doing all the looking when I should have been looking at/to HIM.

Then I was reminded today;

But the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.” So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me. [2 Cor 12:9 ERV]

So, when I hear things like ''If that is what you want go for it¨ I interpret it as this ¨If that is what you want remember that its not about you''

Because 'I' will always want it. I will always want to quit. I will always want to be lazy. I will always want to be uninspired. I will always not want to make the extra effort. I will always..... (fill in the blank for other excuses we make) and if you are also being honest you also want to quit sometimes.

But.... IT'S. NOT. ABOUT. YOU.

Someone also said ¨If its just one person reading...¨ I also take comfort in that too but most importantly remember Gods strength is made perfect in your weakness.

I WAS tempted to quit on this blog.
I WAS tempted to just stop writing.
I WAS tempted to let go and stop being deliberate.
I WAS tempted to 'Let life just happen'.
I WAS tempted to just quit.
I WAS tempted.

No shades of grey

As a church community we read the new testament in 35 days as a challenge. Among many other things I was learning in Church what stood out for me was that there was no second guessing with God.

His way is clear.
His word is true.
and He is not an author of confusion.

Someone wrote recently on twitter ¨It is quite surprising that two Christians from one source (Jesus) argue over one Bible, due to different doctrines *sigh*” - @Ifeolunu

One of the things that became clear to me after this challenge, I sure had no desire to sit and ‘argue’ theology as I used to nor did I have any desire to idly talk about what someone thought about what this or that passage of scripture meant.

Like I mentioned earlier, the Word of God is clear! Black and white and in the words of Frank donga ¨No dilly dallying or meri go randing¨ Its on point.
Anything that is hidden, is hidden. What's revealed is revealed.

We often insert our shades of grey and taking words of context like the awkward moment when you realise that Jesus is not the rock when you put Matt 7:24-27 in context.

Shades of grey are man-made - whether one or 50 -_- *Pun Intended*

'Black and white' is God-made
He is not the author of confusion.
Read your Bible in context.

One of the best things that happened in my walk with God this year was reading the new testament from Matthew to Revelation chronologically

It was simply amazing, one that I will do again, again and again. I want to challenge you to prayerfully drop your Biblical ‘Shades of grey’ (If you are reading that book, really drop it) and pick Gods Word.

If you want the plan I used to be on track for 35 days and also want some level of accountability, kindly let me know and I will Email it to you.

Have a great week ahead!

I really thought I heard God this time

I thought I heard God...

I thought he led me to make the decision?

I thought he led me to walk in this path?
source

I wrote down this title a day before I had a reason to write it out

If I heard him direct me why are things not working out? These were one of my thoughts when I decided to cut my hair last year

Nothing has gone as planned in the last 2 months. By May 2014, I knew exactly where I would be at the end of the year and mentally gotten myself ready why?

I thought I heard God...

And I did.

I mapped out my life accordingly, took the necessary leaps of faith but I landed right in the pit. This is not to analyse what I hear or question its authenticity because I was very sure I was led to this point.

But here I am, July 2014 Nothing gone has planned and really NOTHING to show for it.

I really thought I heard God...

I was quick to equate obedience of the said instructions to success of MY plans. I forgot I don't belong to myself and God has his own plans. Like every other time I seek counsel, I ran to the WORD.

I've been reading the Book of Genesis since last week and its filled with alot of ''I thought I heard God moments"
My perfect example is Joseph. God had birth the dream but the next phases of his life said nothing about where he will end up. Abraham's ''I thought I heard God" moment didn't also end like he thought it will.

Gods standard for following an instruction and it being a success is not what the world will define as success today. I have come to understand that because I heard God doesn't mean I will automatically measure up to the worlds standard of success.

Because I heard God is the exact recipe for following due process. God is a God of process and will form, mould and ultimately use us for his glory.

Because I heard God (no matter what it looks like) and followed his leading, in that I should take comfort, He never leaves and is is ever present in our present and most assuredly in our future.

Gods reality in NOT according to the worlds system, He follows process and he is in the process with us every step of the way. If you're like me and although you know God led you to a point but everything seems to be falling apart like a pack of cards, do not be anxious or be discouraged. Take comfort in the fact that you are exactly where he wants you to be. He is in your process and his purpose for your being wherever you are will be fulfilled.

Don't be discouraged. Only Trust wholly!!

Have a blessed Tuesday! :)

Jack of ALL trades, master of ALL

*Sings into the stage*

"Mo ni baba kan, baba ara to mo'yi omo. Ko fi mi shere o" (I have one father, a father that knows the worth of a child. He doesn't play with me)
*Picks up mic*

I'm sure we all have that friend that reads wide and knows a little - at least - about every topic, and they humbly share their knowledge right?
You don't have?

Let me introduce you to my master of ALL. He doesn't just know and contribute, he gives you practical steps for everything you need. I woke up with this truth translated in my spirit, Jesus knows ALL about everything and is willing to give you solution or discuss with you and empower you to do whatever you need to do through the Holy Spirit.
"Yes, it is God who is working in you. He helps you want to do what pleases him, and he gives you the power to do it" Phil 2:13
Jesus is the solution to every problem, what is the problem again?
Are you sick in your body, Jesus is the great physician. Are you confused, you have the great counsellor at your disposal. Burned out, he has change of Oils for you. You think you're a failure, he is the way to success.

If you wander from the right path, either to the right or to the left, you will hear a voice behind you saying, “You should go this way. Here is the right way. Isaiah 30:21

I know some people will say "Yes, I know Jesus has all the wealth of wisdom and information but how does it get available to me?"
In my short time walking with the Lord, I struggled (read that as I'm struggling) with this for a while but I found the key in "God is spirit. So the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth" John 4:24
We are spirit beings and we can't get anything from God if we don't realise this.
You are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body
When your spirit self - the real you - is more real to you than your physical self, thats living in the supernatural and I believe thats where God is taking us to on this earth. Earthen vessels living in the supernatural. But right now, we are just getting occational prompting of the  spirit when we should be constantly-no-break-taking led by the holy spirit like Jesus.

"But Jesus answered, “I assure you that the Son can do nothing alone. He does only what he sees his Father doing. The Son does the same things that the Father does." John 5:19
“I can assure you that whoever believes in me will do the same things I have done. And they will do even greater things than I have done, because I am going to the Father" John 14:12

But how can we do even the greater works if we don't realise that his going to the father brought the holy spirit to empower us to do that work, and if we do not give the holy spirit the chance to express himself in us? How can we do the greater work if we do not yield to the holy spirit and all we are doing instead is living like orphans sad, depressed, broke, sick, confused or on social media -_-

0/ very guilty x_x

But, let us not be discouraged, because its not too late to start yielding to the holy spirit. The holy spirit is here to stay, Lets start walking in the supernatural today!!

Opinion: Is it lack of faith to not put all your eggs in one basket?

Based on the common saying ¨I cannot put my eggs in one basket¨ Sope hit me with a question ¨Is not putting your eggs in one basket wisdom or an act of not enough faith?¨

In order for me to understand he gave me examples.
1. Is it an act of foolishness to take drugs or is it lack of faith?
2. Is it wisdom after praying about wanting to do masters to also start applying for Jobs?

Wisdom or Lack of faith?

Having said that, there are babes in Christ and there are matured Christians and that will tell in your approach to things. When someone is still a babe and coming into a deeper knowledge of God and his ways - but is not exactly there yet.

I think its totally fine when people do things without faith and the word even warns us not to judge such people. Even Jesus repeated ¨Your faith has made you whole¨

We are under the new covenant and there are no rules set in stone for us.

You might say the same Bible say to have faith and not of works and it also says faith without works is dead.

In the new covenant God deal with us uniquely and gives us instructions tailored to our lives. When he speaks to us as his children and gives us instructions to follow and that is the work our faith works. It is birth out of obedience to the word/instructions of God.

As opposed to just applying for school and looking for different Jobs, because thats the next logical steps in the world that we live in, God instructs you to apply for just school, now you are confident because God said you should. The wisdom is in obedience'to his instructions.

Also, If someone is diagnosed with cancer and as opposed to going to the hospital which is the logical thing to do, God instructs the person to make dietary changes and doing that in confidence because God instructed.

Another may try to do what you did and it wont work for them, thats why we must each have a personal relationship with God because he is not a one-size-fits all God, he is a one-size-fits-YOU - as much as your capacity is.

When all your eggs are in one basket and given to God, its wisdom for you to listen to him where you should put your individual eggs and you will be rest assured that it will be safe there.

In my opinion, We just need to listen more.

What say you? I appreciate your comments.

I don't have an appropriate title (2013 Review)

Hello Everyone,

I know this is probably stale but I had to tell of Gods goodness towards me in the course of 2013, by the end of the post you will probably know why I couldn't put it up before now. Here is how my year went and what I hope to do in the new year.

*                                                                          *                                                                    *

Lying on the bathroom floor tugging at my chest like a lion tearing apart its prey. As if to physically remove the pain I felt.
"Why?" I asked
In my mind, I was asking God, but I had also come to a place where I felt he wasn't listening anymore. The emptiness was eating me up. The clutching pain won't let me go. My lips won't part to say word to anyone about my inside.
This was always at night, most nights. I will smile in the morning after touching up my face with some powder or Just simply say
"Its the sleep that made it swollen" to anyone that noticed my eyes.

It was Dec 2012 and I just had a very rough end of the year, enough was enough, I didn't want to go into 2013 with the "depression"
For the first time in my whole life, I decided to sit at home - against my mother's wish ofcourse - for the crossover into 2013, This was going to be the last day of crying with so much pain on the inside.

Pain from being clueless.
Pain from a hurting heart.
Pain from a restless soul.
Pain from a restless heart.
Pain from an empty heart.
Pain from being Jobless.
Pain from shattered hopes and dreams.
Just Pain.

I sat and "talked" with God, cried my system out, tried to pull the hurt - once again. Then I slept into the new year.

You can guess, the year didn't start on a very high note for me, I had gotten rejected for my masters application and I wasn't even motivated to brush up my CV not to talk of applying for Jobs.
The constant nagging of my parents about me not going for Interviews

"Or you are not applying?"
"Or you don't want to work?"
"Which one do you want to do?"
I will just mumble a reply and let it rest.

I started going to my mother's Shop and I just got introduced to Andrew Wommack(Thanks Mandy). Everyday, I would drive to 'work' (Mother left her car for me on most days) and soak in the sermons, every Wednesday, I would go for morning prayer meeting which was attended mostly by the older women in the church, my tiny self, with just one or two men (Really? Are women more prayerful?)

I did all of these diligently, week in, week out.
I had a dream on the 17th of Jan, one that shook me to my very core and at the same time made me happy.
*Cuts out insignificant part*
I was on my way home and I saw 2 demon-like creatures that stood in my way, I called the name of Jesus to rebuke them and guess what? They laughed in my face "You this small girl calling a name you know nothing about" I got scared and ran back.

I didn't see a light or a bright white person but I just knew God came on the scene, this is how I put it in my journal

"God showed up among them and his voice was so calm, soothing and with so much authority like he was giving a command in the nicest voice. Not shouting and all.

Like saying "She called and I answered" maybe not in those exact words and the demons scattered into pieces of flesh"

I later wrote "Don't shout, Help is on the way"

I got a Job in March and between the time I had the dream and when I got the Job, I went for 3 interviews in those 3 weeks. My mum missed me in her shop and I miss going for Prayer meeting.

"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call" ~ Joel 2:32

Before now, I was the only one in my house that didn't have a passport not to talk of travelling by air. In the first 3 months of working all of that changed.

In my plan, I had "Move out" as a 2014 goal, but I got an apartment by the end of August 2013. I Live in a semi-empty, small place, nothing fancy by the worlds standard, but I Love it regardless.

I "planned" to start saving for my Camera in 2013 and get it by the end of the year, I got one by the middle of the year. I have no idea how all of these happened, It was just evident that God tore my "plans for 2013" sheet off and handed me a new one.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

I think I attended like 4-5 different churches this year and finally settled in one, attended 4 gospel musical concerts (yay) Loved every bit of it. I Loved God and will continue to Love God.

This my small blog got to 50,000 hits this last year and the number of people that God blessed through my crappy writings was just really humbling, I started Daily Exhortations and there were some days I didn't have Bible Verses to share from not studying the Word the previous night or week and I wanted to just quit, but people just tell me in those times (talk about perfect timing) How the daily exhortations has blessed them in ways I can't understand. So, I kept on, I keep on - Daily, bringing Gods word to you one verse at a time!

God is faithful, I tell you.

I cried so much in the year, cut my hair in one of the low points too, I had days of not knowing where the transport fare for the next day is coming from, not having what to eat and God showed up at the nick of time.
Recently My mum were joking about something (Can't remember exactly)  But I remember telling her that she won't know when I don't have money and she kinda 'yimu-ed' at me, then I went on to ask her If she knew about the days I walked to and from work, she looked back at me in disbelieve till my sister confirmed it.

In those days, God still showed up.

"What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" Psalm 8:4

The end of the year had us celebrating December in the Hospital, not sleeping at night, waking up to go to work from the hospital, taking turns to go sleep at home. I watched people watch their loved ones die on Christmas day, boxing day, New years day. Sigh.

Makes you just sit back and be Thankful (I will write about this when the smoke finally clears)

I learnt not to limit God, I learnt to praise in the storm and put on my faith-life-Jacket because the storm raged, but I am here - standing. Lets not even talk about the days I fell, face flat, took me some time to dust myself off and stand again but the word says

"For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again..." Proverbs 24:16

I am NOT looking forward to the new year - yet because I know Gods going to do a new thing and I feel like I didn't enjoy this phase enough but one thing I will do (regardless of how I feel) is.... "forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14

I don't know what this year holds and although I've written my hopes and Visions for the year and given to HIM to do with it as he pleases, Its already the end of the first week and I already feel direction-less (Typical x_x) But, I really don't care all I want to do is seek God this year and let him take over my life, I know he has the compass, won't it be foolish of me if I don't carry my cross and follow him?

Hope Its not too  late to say Happy New year? :)

Happy New year Lovely people!! Lets make 2014 worthwhile shall we?

Cheers

Spoken Words: I will wait for you by Janette

Since I started listening to @ilola do spoken words, I've been drawn into it. I went spoken words hunting on You tube and now,my absolute favourite is Janette the P4CM group!

This is "I will wait for you"

So it seemed, that it was cool for everyone to be in a relationship but me..
So I took matters into my own hands… and ended up with him
Him who displayed the characteristics of a CHEATER, a LIAR, an ABUSER, & a THIEF
So.. why was I surprised when he broke into my heart?
I called 911, but I was cardiac arrested for aiding and abetting,
Cause it was ME who let him in…
Claiming we were “just friends”..
It was already decided for me by the first date, that even if he wasn’t!
I was gonna make him ‘The One’..
You know… I was tired of being alone,
And I simply made up in my mind, that it was about that time so I decided to drag him along for the ride,
Cause I was always the bridesmaid & never the bride..
A virgin in the physical, but mentally just a grown woman on the corner in heat!
Who was tired of the wait!
So I was gonna make him ‘The One’.
He had a… form of Godliness… but not much..
But hey, hey I can change him! So (honey) I’ll TAKE him, I mean he’s close… enough
Ready to sell my aorta for a quarter, not knowing the value of its use to me
Arteries so clogged with MY will, it blocked HIS Will from flowing through me
So, I thank Christ that His blood pressure gave this heart an attack,
That flat lined my obscured vision, put me flat on my back
Through my ignorance He sawed,
Through my sternum He sawed & cracked open my chest
TO transplant Psalm 51:10
A new heart & a renewed right spirit within!
So now I fully understand,
Better yet I thoroughly comprehend,
How much I NEED to wait… for You.
See, the bad thing is that I knew he wasn’t you from the beginning..
Cause in the beginning was the Word
And he didn’t even sound or shine like Your Son
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks,
And all he could whisper was sweet, empty nothings –
Which meant NOTHING.
He couldn’t even pray when I NEEDED him to
Asking him to fast would be absurd!
So forget about being cleansed & washed with water through the Word…
But I know You.. ♥
You were already praying for me
Even never having met me
Let me assure you, I will wait for you.
I will no longer date, socialize or communicate with carbon copies of you
To appease my boredom or to quench my thirstiness I have for attention
And short-lived compliments from ‘sorta kindas’.
You know…. He ‘sort kinda’ right, but ‘sorta kinda’ wrong?
His first name LUKE,
His last name WARM.
I, I won’t settle for false companionship
I won’t lay in the embrace of his arms,
Attempting to find some closeness,
But never feeling so far apart cause, I just wanna be held
Cause ♫”all I gotta do is Say” No!
NO more ‘almost sessions’ of ‘almost coming close’
Passing winks & buying drinks,
I’ma, I’ma, I’ma flirt!♫
Who flirts with the ideology of,
‘Can you just tell me how much I can get away with & still be saved?’
NO more.
I’ll stay in my bed… alone, and write poems, about how I will wait for you
He won’t even come close,
Our fingers won’t even interlock
We won’t even exchange breath
Cause I have thoughts that I’ve ‘saved as’ in a file that God has only equipped you to open.
I will no longer get weighed down,
From so-called friends & family talks,
About the concern for my biological clock
When I serve the Author of Time.
Who is NOT subject to time,
But I’M subject to Him,
He has the ability to STOP, FAST FORWARD, PAUSE, or REWIND at any given time…
So if we could role play,
You would be Abraham & I would be Sara
Or you can be Isaac & I can be Rebecca – a servant’s answered prayer
I am bone of your bone, flesh of your flesh,
Made up of your rib Adam!
And once we meet, like electrons
I will be bound to your nucleus, completely indivisible atom.
We even speak the same math: 1 + 1 + 1 = 3, which really equals 1 if you add Him.
We were all created in His image,
But you have the ability to reflect, project & even detect the Son.
If I were to explain what you looked like,
You would have to look like a star,
A son of the Son..
I would gain energy simply from the light on me.
I would need you , in order to complete my photosynthesis
I await your revelation, but once again from the genesis, I will wait for you ♥
And I will know you… because when you speak I will be reminded of Solomon’s wisdom,
Your ability to lead will remind me of Moses,
Your faith will remind me of Abraham,
Your confidence in God’s Word will remind me of Daniel,
Your inspiration will remind me of Paul,
Your heart for God will remind me of David,
Your attention to detail will remind me of Noah,
Your integrity will remind me of Joseph,
And your ability to abandon your own will, will remind me of the disciples,
But Your ability to love selflessly & unconditionally will remind me of Christ.
But I won’t need to identify you by any special Matthews or any special Marks,
Cause His word will be tatted all over your heart.
And you will know me, and you will find me,
Where… the boldness of Esther meets the warm closeness of Ruth.
Where the hospitality of Lydia is aligned with the submission of Mary,
Which is engulfed in the tears of a praying Hanna.
I will be the one, drenched in Proverbs 31… waiting for you.
But to my Father, my Father who has known me before I was birthed into this earth
Only if you should see fit…
I desire Your will above mine,
So even if you call me to a life of singleness,
My heart is content with YOU – the One who was sent.
YOU are the greatest love story ever told,
The greatest story ever known
You are forever my judge & I’m forever Your witness
And I pray that I’m always found on a mission about my Father’s business
Oh, I will always be Yours!
And I will always wait for You Lord, more than the watchmen wait for the morning…
More than the watchmen wait for the morning… I WILL WAIT ♥

When God steps in

[source]

We strive and strive for a lot of things all to no avail, we stumble, fall then rise again and become philosophers dishing out quotes, as much as there is nothing wrong with failing with the way the world works, because we live in a world that people go on and on about "I'm a Hustler" but I serve a God that says "There remaineth a  rest for the people of God" [Hebrew 4:9] and we should "Labour to enter into the rest [Hebrews 4:11]

Even before I listened to Joseph Prince [Click to listen to the sermon] hammer it in my head or even knew it was in the Bible, I always knew it that hustling as a child of God just didn't make sense to me. Ever heard of the daughter of a king hustling? (Not the prodigal one) I thought so too.

When I was about to finish NYSC I was speaking to a guy that had passed out a batch before me, he kept saying that I should be ready to hustle that It wasn't easy, I vividly remember telling him that as for me oh, I won't hustle he just Yimu-ed at me.

When I got home from NYSC, My mother and father kept knocking it in my head (as it looked like I wasn't doing anything about my joblessness) to apply for Jobs and what not, I really wasn't doing much - really I had no idea what the heck I was doing, but I just knew down in my spirit that I won't be hustling and worrying over getting a Job because I have a father that is "I AM" Ever wondered why that name seems incomplete? Yes, because He is what you need him to be. I digress.

See, I got it in my spirit, even before I found where it was in the Bible, that the daughter of a king doesn't hustle, she's got everything taken care of by her father and thats exactly what God has done, remember "It is finished" DONE! Paid in Blood!!

I know I said "When God steps in" but really it should be "When you've realised God has stepped in" then you realise how much further you can go. Are you weak? Its not a strength problem, Its an ignorance problem.
Every problem is an Ignorance problem.
"And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free" [John 8:32] and who or what is the truth? [John 14:6] I am the way, the truth and the life. I have stepped in.
God spoke to Moses at the red sea why do you cry to me, speak to the people, move forward, stretch your rod (paraphrased) [Ex 14:15-16] God had already stepped in, He just needed to realise it.

Another example (The one that made me write this) I found out is Elijah in 1 kings 19:4 "while he HIMSELF went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors"

Just one day and he was ready for his life to be taken from him, notice that God didn't reply his request and he just stepped in, on a second thought Elijah realised that God was there If not he won't be speaking to him right?
But when he started his journey "He HIMSELF WENT" but God doesn't want that, Elijah came to an end of himself and God in his Love and mercy showed himself. In the next verse the angel visited him and said "Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee but its not for God"
Halleluyah!!!
The next verse states that he went for 40days and 40 nights in the strength of that meat, One day in his strength (Hustling) and 40 days and 40 nights in the strength of Gods meat (Rest) Now imagine Elijah acknowledging from the beginning of his journey that God had stepped in, won't he have saved himself the emotional stress?

No detail in the Bible is misplaced - Its getting evident to me by the day - there is no coincidence with God, every little detail is as good as the truth as every BIG miracle recorded in the word.

I'm getting over the too-good-to-be-true phase of learning of the Gospel of Jesus and about the Grace of God. Unlearning religious ways, Believing and walking in the truth and the holy spirit has been my ever present help. There are days I cry because unlearning is not easy but then I lean into the comforter and he comforts me.

Yes! There remaineth a rest for the people of God and he wants us to live in the consciousness of that rest and live our lives from that restful place, that why he says labour to enter into that rest - this doesn't mean being lazy or not getting a Job or whatever anyone wants to pervert the word of God as, It simply means acknowledge his presence and do your work in his strength.

Its a state of knowing the truth in the word of God, where you are not trying to earn nothing. You are just basking in the euphoria of being a child of the most high (not a care in the world) doing your Job in the knowledge, raising your kids in the knowledge, attending classes in the knowledge, basically, going through life with the acknowledgement of the truth of his finished works.

Ready to join me to walk with the knowledge that God has stepped in?

Things DON'T fall apart || When it falls apart

Matt 6:25-26 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"

"What do you do when things are not working out?"
That was the question that birthed this post, and i have found myself asking myself this question(With no answers ofcourse) but in this walk I've also learnt what to do in times when i'm tempted to ask the question again.

A friend of mine took the bold step to ask me this a couple of days ago

"What do you do when things are not working out?" He asked

In the bit to not sound too spiritual, i started asking
"How do you mean?"
"With what?"
Then there was the nudge inside my spirit and i just said exactly what i do when "it" doesn't seem to work out, when nothing makes sense. I started typing

"I take it to God"

"Whatever it is"

"Yeah, then wait" He added

"And Trust and believe" I said

"Then come to resolve - because you Trust him - that whatever happens God loves you regardless and even if it doesn't make sense now, all is working  together for my good because, I Love him" I added

I know this is easier said than done, but when Gods Love for you drives you and pierces through your being(I've been saying this alot x_x), believing and taking rest in him comes really easy.

If anybody knows about crumbling worlds around them, I think I have a pretty good idea what that looks like, and not until recently did I understand what knowing Gods Love towards you can change in your life. So, what exactly do you do when everything is not working out and it feels like the "forces" are just against you?

[Now, This are my thoughts and its not a take-this-step-it-will-work kinda thing. Its just whats worked for me]

- Breathe: Inhale deeply and exhale, now repeat 2 more times.

- Open your mouth and say this: Dear lord, i know that you Love me unconditionally. Nothing seems to be making any sense right now, the world around me seems to be crumbling around me. Please help me. Give me your peace ad-mist this storm, help me trust in you more. In Jesus name. Amen" and i know he will give you peace.

- Smile: I know bringing a genuine smile out of you might be hard, but think about something funny Like Obasanjo dancing azonto in boxers? or something sweet Like my adorable smile *bats lashes* Or Someone that you Love? Anything that fries your dodo and makes you give a genuine smile.

- Say "Thank You, Lord": Now, you are in a better place to offer thanksgiving, now praise him through the storm, praise him for the peace at least, praise him for anything.

- Rest: Yes! Just rest. Rest in the knowledge that he is God and although things are crumbling, he's got it together. Rest in the fact that he is piling those crumbled pack of card together in its place for you - because that's what he does - fix things for his children. Make the impossible HIMpossible.

"Let us labour to enter into the rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief" Heb 4:11

" Luke 1:37 - For with God nothing shall be impossible"

Get my drift?
Sit back, relax for you have the creator of the universe working round the clock on your behalf Psalms 121: 3-4 "He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep"

One more things; don't forget him when it starts working out.

God bless you real good.
